Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. joined ESPN. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her land her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was employed as a reporter by the CBS station to work as a sports journalist. In 2009, she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Covering stories on immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as a reporter for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English and also another reporter for the news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. In addition, she was used at times as a news and sport anchor. She then anchored and reported at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She has been promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same role she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1984 in Mexico City. There is also an older sister. She is the older sister. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she spent one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked at the time. Antonietta still a senior at high school and knew exactly what career path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta decided to go visit the university. In the end she was enthralled with the university. The university offered her major. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the University. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was an acquaintance. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence inspired her. She in turn, tried to meet the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
